It's been about a year since grizzo was supposed to post "the next entry", so I'm gonna go ahead and give this a kick-start by finishing off our time in beautiful Edinburgh.
When we last left our lazy heroes, they were, as usual, waking up slightly hung over.
On this particular day, the first order of business was to rescue a nice young German girl named Jessica from the obnoxious South Australian girls. We handled the situation thusly:
We walked up to the castle around noon, where the line to get in was about an hour long. We found Jessica and the South Australian's discussing whether it was worth standing in that obscene queue. We waited patiently for the SAG's to say something stunningly indicative of how much fun they weren't. It didn't take long. Then, Grizzo said something hilariously off-color and charming, as is his wont, and I pointed out the lovely view of Arthur's Seat, suggesting that a hike was not likely to have such a long line.
Jessica took a look between the delicate shoes on the Australian feet and the shit-eating grin on Grizzo's face and told us she'd come with.
So the three of us had a delightful, windy hike up to the top of that big ol' hill:
That evening, Grizzo and I tried to go to an awesome vegetarian restaurant we had walked past, but it was closed. So we stumbled into this tiny little middle-eastern place, which was totally awesome. We got sat right in the middle of the one small dining area downstairs, right in front of the smallest stage in the world where a band of two were playing some traditional music with much gusto not 6 feet from us. We didn't take any photos because we didn't want to ruin the moment.
All I remember of the food is that it was delicious, and that in the middle of our meal some folks from the next table stood up and made a dance-floor out of the little space that was available, and that it was totally rad.
The next day, we got up a little earlier than usual and fought our way into the castle, since grizzo's "first castle" was pretty much just a single tower of rocks.
The Edinburgh castle is pretty neat, with crown jewels and whatnot to be seen and other culturally significant points of interest.
We had a flight to Amsterdam that evening, but we still managed to squeeze in a walk through the lovely Princes Street Gardens at the base of the castle.
And we even wandered into some museum, which had this crazy clock thing that was totally gruesome. I forget what it was called, but it had lots of grim images in the clockwork.
It's possible that this was the most productive sight-seeing day of our trip. And by the end of the day, we'd be in Amsterdam-- where you can imagine we continued to be "productive."
Can you tell what the hell Grizzo is eating?

Wow, and here I've been sitting on the edge of my chair for A YEAR. Glad to have you back in the blogosphere GCB! Now the real question is: will either of the TWO Grizzos in this blog post next? Let's not hold our breath...
